Anyone else experience this while fasting?? Face is red, feels hot? Been going on for hours?

Not a doctor but it could mean your generating more heat from rapidly burning fat or lipolysis is occurring (at the same time WAT is being browned with iron rich mitochondria; BAT like) from fasting and drinking very very cold natural water or skin being exposed to colder water and ingesting something equivalent to bitter melon extract; “…metabolizing gene expression and increasing the function of AMPK and PPARs, and so forth.” You would have to have a higher ratio of omega 3 (w/marine based DHA) intake prior to a fast for the above (cold thermal genesis; generates core body heat) to occur efficiently!

Usually it is the opposite; the core body temperature decreases when doing your average fasting in most people!

Or it could be simple as a fever (flu or a cold), niacin type flushing, rosacea or a keto rash?

The Dangers of Fasting Longer than 24 Hours: Dr. Berg talks about how long you need to fast for. If you fast longer than 24 hours, you need to know HOW to do it healthily and not do it without the electrolytes and other nutrients built up as a reserve.

I have the same issue. I have’t found an answer for it yet but fasting 20 hours or more, a lot of times my face gets red, hot and tender sometimes to the point of being very uncomfortable. I usually water fast with salt in my water only. I have been strict keto for over 3 months. It doesn’t happen every time and I have also done 90 hour fasts successfully without it happening. I keep thinking that I am lacking something that maybe I should be supplementing. Any constructive suggestions would be appreciated.
