“the pork of the sea”
Bye bye bacon. Bacon removed from all keto menus
ahh yes…
Smoked Salmon is Bacon of the sea
Avocado is butter of the earth
Bacon is… Bacon… nothing tops bacon
.
If we’re talking pork texture, I think swordfish and tuna steaks have far more of a pork consistency than salmon… Just my little observation
I am obviously behind the times if pesco-vegetarianism is now considered a thing.
I thought it was ‘pescatarian’ and had been for decades.
Especially since fish eating and being vegetarian are mutually exclusive.
Or is this just another way of saying ‘flexitarian’ (which actually means ‘I will eat what I like while using a trendy name for it and hanging on the even trendier vegan shirt tails…?’).
The person who created this thread might be saying bye to bacon, but the rest of us aren’t. That’s for sure. I got several packs in my freezer right meow!
Since going on a lower fat version of keto, I eat a lot less bacon, though I still like it when I do eat it. I love salmon, but it’s no substitute for bacon.
Since I don’t eat pork, I’ve not eaten bacon unless it was beef or turkey bacon. (I know, I’m weird.)
But I really like a good salmon steak. Would like to try a piece that’s spent an hour or two in a smoker but haven’t picked up one of those yet. I’m told it’s an incredible flavor.
Salmon patties are good, too.
FrancoBear, I gave up on trying to fit a category of eating. I’ve been vegetarian, I’ve been vegan, and a few others. I suppose I fit most closely to Keto (omnivore style) these days but I sometimes eat some things that aren’t and no doubt drop out of ketosis from time to time. I still have some remnants of old ways of eating that I hang onto, like sticking with clean meats. But otherwise, I eat lots of really good food and enjoy it, a lot.
