Does anyone have any resources for cheap ribeye steaks? Is Sam’s Club at $9.98 per/lb the best deal? What about coupons or sale cycles?
Thanks!

I don’t know if they are in your area but Lidl has sales often and they are grass fed.
I but the strip of ribeyes at Sams for the price listed. I do see some packages steaks on sale when they are close to their best if used by date, but not often.
I pay $8.99/lb for ribeye at Aldi and that’s the best price around where I live. They also have the lowest prices for pork ribs, chicken, avocados and coconut oil. Hopefully there’s one near you.
I have one real close. I will have to check it out today.
@daddyoh For five years, I drove past Aldi five days a week and never went in because I heard they had a limited selection. Now I’m buying 60% of all my food from there and saving some money.
If you like pork rinds, I recommend the brand they carry; Clancy’s. And bring your own bags or boxes because they don’t offer freebies. They do sell bags at the checkout counter at a pretty low price if you forget or can’t be bothered to bring your own.
Don’t forget the quarter for the carts.
I used to frequent Aldi’s as one of my stops, my schedule has become so busy I’ve traded some of the savings for convenience. Seems I need to re-visit that strategy.
Look for stores that mark down meats the day before their ‘best before’ date. I get ribeye several time a week every week for under $5.50/lb Canadian.
One of the best tricks I’ve got from this forum is that the shelf life of meats (especially beef) can be extended for many days by getting them out of their wrapping, placing them on a grill, and exposing them to the circulating air of your fridge. This allows me to buy way more ribeye when I see it marked down than I possibly could eat by its ‘best before’ date. It’s never gone off. Not once. In fact, if anything, the drying makes the sear better and the extended aging improves the tenderness.
The Sam’s Prices are pretty good most of the time, only issue I find is their choice doesn’t always look great and their prime selection is usually pretty small. Do you have Fresh Markets where you live? If you’re in the east you probably do. Normally their a super douchey place but their meat sales are crazy.
Same here; we live right near an Aldi and I think I’ve been in there twice. Right now we get all of our meat at BJs (similar to Sam’s). I will have to check out Aldi this weekend.
Food Lion…not my favorite place but they have Ribeye for 7.99lb… Something they do around here is thin cut… ugh…they don’t know a thing about steak. Ooo Pork ribs 1.79lb… I will be making a stop today.
Once in a while I like thin cut for carne asada but usually I get it a a mexican restaurant that understands keto. They know they will 100% lose our business if they screw up keto steak. Recently my steak was burnt and the owner was not happy. They fixed it with a perfectly cooked, oversized steak.
Darn now I’m hungry. need to wait at least till 11:30 for my first meal.
For many of the sales they run it could be very worth doing it. I’ve got Prime Ribeye for $10.99/lb when they go nuts with the sales. Their “Premium” Choice is pretty much Prime as well.
