Buy a T-Shirt from the metabolic society and help fund science

Just dropping in to mention a fund raising campaign by Dr Feinman’s Nutrition & Metabolism Society.

Only 2 days left in the campaign funding the work of Drs Richard Feinman, Eugene Fine, and Matthew Pincus doing research into ketogenic diets and cancer. Don’t be the person who says after the campaign is finished - “Love the T-shirt - where can I get one?” cos after the campaign has finished, you can’t.

BTW: I didn’t realize they have 3 different designs. I get my carbs from GNG is a new one I think.

I always wear my Metabolism Society T-shirts to Biochem exams. No it’s not considered cheating. I’m unlikely to be quizzed on anything on this T-shirt, because ketogenic metabolism is virtually ignored. However, there are a handful of researchers doing basic fundamental hard science on the subject, and funded on an absolute shoestring by people like me and you buying t-shirts.

They really should be funded by the NiH rather than another study into why plant based diets are good because … plants.

Great suggestion @richard … Just bought a T-shirt featuring the multi-colored ketone pathway map, to confuse both myself and others.

BTW, I checked out the most-recent IRS Form 990 filings available where one can see that - while devoting an average of 40 hours per month to the nonprofit 501(c )(3) Nutrition & Metabolism Society - none of the directors (neither Feinman, Fine, nor Pogozelski) accept any personal compensation.

Instead, the nonprofit’s revenues go to supporting the research and making relevant info publicly available. :+1:

I ordered “I get my carbs from GNG” (though I thought GNG was possible through fat, too; where does that occur on the Tshirt?). I gave a measly extra $25 too.
