Bulletproof Coffee Question

Has anyone made bulletproof coffee with heavy cream instead of butter?

I make it with MCT oil and cocoa butter. Others use regular coconut oil.

The only real rule to BPC is add a fat. Which one is totally up to the individual.

I basically use it as a laxative nowadays - MCT oil MESSES ME UP lol! I love it!

Yes, you have to build up a tolerance to it. Start of fun with a teaspoon or less. Slowly add more. I can handle a tablespoon now and not have any problems.

I use both HWC and butter in mine!

I use HWC in regular daily coffee, but if I am fasting and not wanting any added carbs/protein at all I stick with butter or coconut oil.

Me too…I add 2 tlbs St Francis Coconut oil and Ghee and I add a tlbs of heavy cream.

Only when I’m out of butter!

Now, that’s a downright CRISIS in my house!!!

I use HWC in my iced coffee because it doesn’t solidify and Ghee is exactly 1 bagillion dollars. In regular BPC I use butter and MCT oil.

I use about 2 tblsp heavy cream + 2 tblsp regular coconut oil, most days. Excellent for the brainz (and for preventing dementia and turning it around, according to Dr. Mary Newport, and as mentioned in the book Protein Power by LCHF physicians).

Personally, my impression is that the MCTs in coconut oil are more amazing than the tiny tiny amount of butyrate in the amount of butter that some are using in coffee. I cook with homemade ghee, but treasure it and don’t put in it my morning coffee.

My experience with coconut oil and HWC has been making for nice appetite suppression, high mental stamina/productivity, and regular progress with body recomposition. As I sip my morning coffee, I usually take 2 caps of Ginger, to start my anti-cortisol, anti-inflammation, and happy circulation day. :sparkles:

Apparently black coffee or strong black tea with Yak butter or ghee is where the BPC idea originated for Dave Asprey. Fatty hot drinks go back a long ways in history - and my BPC has really helped my intermittent fasting.

Heavy cream, butter, coconut oil, and currently mct oil too. Sometimes a raw egg yolk thrown in with it. Sometimes just coffee and heavy cream.

It was Himalayan butter tea. It’s usually made with pu erh as opposed to regular black tea. They make a strong put of pu erh, then churn it vigourously with butter and salt to totally emulsify it.

#14

Have never had pu erh tea - thanks for that info!

I actually really like it, but I’ve never made butter tea with it. It tastes like the world’s most delicious dirt. Understandably, some people aren’t into that. It’s made with mature tea leaves so it’s very high in fluoride. Also it can contain small amounts of lovastatin due to the bacteria and fungi that culture it. I only have it occasionally.

That’s quite a quality: world’s most delicious dirt! In wintertime I def get specific tea hankerings - the world of traditional warm beverages is so vast. Now next time I have an extra-earthy craving I’ll remember there’s pu erh.
