Bulletproof Coffee help

(Ashley) #1

I want to start implementing bulletproof coffee. I tried to read about what people have in there’s. I couldn’t find exactly what’s in it. So everyone tell me what you put in your bulletproof coffee. Also if you know the nutritional content of it please add. Thanks!

Mine is heavy cream, coconut oil, and butter, but other people make it differently. There’s no rules, make it how you like it. I’ll often blend in a raw egg yolk too.

I do the Rocket Fuel Latte a la Leanne Vogal.
It’s MCT oil, cocoa butter, hemp seeds, vanilla, salt and collagen peptides.

A little more labor intensive, but it taste like a vanilla cappuccino.

How does the egg work exactly? Would the Heat cause cooking?

(Ashley) #8

Thank you everyone for the ideas! I appreciate it!

(Ashley) #9

I didn’t think about adding cinnamon or cocoa !!!

(Ashley) #10

Does that mess with your stomach at all? Sounds like a lot of fat at once!!

(Allie) #11

It’s not hot enough to cook it. Just adds extra tasty fats and a creamy texture.

I’ve tried it and no it doesn’t cook the egg. I immediately blended it in the blender as soon as I dropped the egg in. It just makes the BPC frothier.

You can add all sorts of spices. I like cayenne pepper and cinnamon. Some people add turmeric which is apparently good but I’ve never tried that.

(Ashley) #14

These are awesome I appreciate all of your responses!

When I do it, it’s just butter and coconut oil. I prefer my coffee black, so I don’t do it very often.

(What The Fast?!) #16

I do just MCT oil or coconut oil (one of the two, not both). I only use 1/2T for my 8 oz cup and I usually drink 2 of them. I also put in cinnamon, salt, and monkfruit sweetener.

My stomach did take time to adjust to the extra fat. Everything I read said it was Keto flu, but I’m pretty sure it was my stomachs reaction to the extra fat. For one I got an upset stomach within a half hour after my very first Keto breakfast. It was how I have felt after doing months of low fat then going to McD’s. And there’s plenty of carbs in McD’s. Anyway, for the first week or two I would get a bit queezy after each meal. One drink in particular would make me nauseous as I was drinking it, and it wasn’t because of the taste, but that’s all gone now.

Here’s what I put in mine:

16oz Black coffee
2TBS butter
2TBS HWC
1TBS MCT oil
A pinch or two of NOSALT

I mix it in my blender, pour it into my travel mug, and consume it on my way to work.
