Bulletproof Brain Octane Oil **WARNING***

(Robert Dockstader) #1

Well this morning I had a wonderful surprise.

Apparently you cannot add Brain Octane Oil to styrofoam. I know I know it states it on the label which I over looked.

My cup practically melted while I was driving. Poured it into another cup I had and still drank it so I am sure I am going to get some form of condition. Lol

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT PUT THIS IN STYROFOAM!!

I wanted my damn coffee! Lol I’m sure I’ll pay in the end

This actually makes me wonder what it does to your stomach…:grimacing:

Diarrhea

I had a similar thought/concern, so checked it out. Apparently the issue is more the nature and properties of styrofoam itself, not the product that’s put in it.

I tried Brain Octane a while back, pretty sure it was in early 2015, before I went fully keto. I remember reading something about that it would dissolve many plastics.

Brain Octane gave me intense abdominal pain. I did some reading and found it wasn’t an unusual side effect. There were reports the pain was from your gall bladder. I reduced the amount I put in my coffee, used up the bottle and never bought another.

Fast forward to June of 2016 and I had not used Brain Octane in over a year. I woke up one morning with a pain in the same area. It came and went for a day or two, but then became constant. I had my gall bladder removed within a few days. The surgery report said it was pretty ugly. Two things they said were necrotic (dead) and gangrenous.

While I can’t prove it, I think the Brain Octane was telling me my gall bladder was going bad or already gone.

So sorry that happened to you. Thankfully no gallbladder pain for me so far.

 Exactly!

FYI Bourbon does the same thing. I did it once and my cup was sweating brown.

To be honest I never wanted to contribute to Dave Asprey’s millions so have never even tried it. If that’s what it does to a fairly inert cup then there’s no way I want that inside me… sorry Dave…

Notice that butter(fat) is also a problem and so heavy cream! I’m not going to give up heavy cream in my coffee! So I’m not going to give up Brain Octane Oil and it’s immediate boost to ketone production!

I will give up plastic cups; which we should all do anyway!

Interesting that my Heavy Cream container is waxed cardboard and does NOT have a warning about putting the cream in Styrofoam. Less honest than Dave Asprey, eh?

Like dissolves like. There are many healthy oils that will go straight through styrofoam, including EVCO, melted butter, etc - just crack open a couple of capsules of your purest Omega-3 fish oil and put it in a styrofoam cup, see what happens!
