British poltican against T2D

(ianrobo) #1

For Brits likely to know who Tom Watson is but he is a British Politcan who I have met a couple of times as my next door M.P.

Anyway he is basically Keto and if Lab elected as govt wants to go full on war against T2D

Interesting
Labour’s Tom Watson ‘reversed’ type-2 diabetes through diet and exercise http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-45495384

Well, that’s going to bring out the vegan attack infrastructure (they wouldn’t use dogs, as it would make the dogs appear subservient to humans). The Guardian will go nuts.

(ianrobo) #3

Haha dogs !!! That would confuse many but yeah when a senior poltican says this the vested interests would be out for him. Actually he would be a great guest for @richard and @carl and can give contact details

This is great news as far as I’m concerned. I’m sure he’ll get a fair bit of cross-party support, although I wonder if some Tories might be less keen, as it’s likely to harm commercial interests, especially in the all-powerful food and pharma industries.

I still can’t decide if I’d want Corbyn as my PM, but that aside, let’s get progressive medicine in general pushed forward.

In fact the Guardian wrote the most factually correct article about it… which after yesterday’s carnivore abomination was quite refreshingly surprising… I’d love to think it was something to do with the snotty e-mail I sent them but fear probably not…

It would be good if they can treat this as a cross party issue and not wait until if lab is in power. People’s health shouldn’t be used as a political tool.
Here’s hoping…

(bulkbiker) #7

I think on Radio 4 this morning he was calling for a cross party group to look into it…

Edit to add for our American cousins that doesn’t mean they were angry just that it should include all the political parties…

(Ellie) #8

Or that they are angry but we should include all political parties anyway!!

(ianrobo) #9

Haha !! I would like people to campaign to abandon govt guidelines and just give the facts about food and let people deceive

(Running from stupidity) #10

Well, good for them. Must have been an intern who doesn’t know how they operate, or something

It does seem a little unusual these days I will admit…
