Of all the garbage there, I think the last one on the post about how it’s a fiction you don’t need them over 80 aggravates me the most, almost as much as how the familial hypercholesterolemia babies need them at birth.

The ignorance of what the molecule does is becoming unforgivable. Quit hiding behind the mantra of ‘Statins are one of the most researched drugs in the UK, and had to be rigorously tested for safety and effectiveness before they were approved.’

They damage your liver to chase a number. The downstream effects on the brain are acceptable losses to them, not me. Damn them!

point is though all research shows some benefits to those who have had an incident but so little to anyone without it, so same old bollox and for me it is neglect that these are prescribed.

If I was our benevolent dictator, I’d funnel the government research money to finding out out why vulnerable plaques rupture, and how to prevent them. There’d be tax breaks for people who get CAC scans and better breaks for those with low scores. or those who improve their scores over time. I’d find a way to incentivize our insurance away from using BMI to adjust premium fees.

You’re right, it’s neglect and bollocks combined to beat up on cellular band-aids like this.

Yep so much a govt free of lobbyists could do !! That’s the whole damn problem more so in US than UK but still here.

When you look at say the new HHS and he is ex pharma all the way then his priorities will be to make more cash for them when most illness can be solved by non drug methods.

Ugh, then yeah things arent trending in a healthy direction. Remember no money for gov’t for eating on the perimeter of the grocery store and preventing disease and healing your metabolic derangement. Sigh…

well I would argue the old ways costs govt’s billions in health costs, loss of productivity, sick time etc … From an economic viewpoint it is nonsense so this is about kickbacks, donations etc, whether US, UK, Aus etc and both left and right.

Want to change this then you have to change the political system and ban large donations etc
