Breaking ketosis

Ok I’m confused , Iv been googling - uh oh- lol and it says it’s good to go in and out of ketosis like once a week eat high carb things that kick you out ( healthy options like bananas and oatmeal) and then go back to eating keto. Is this true? I wouldn’t do it every week I think that’s a bit much but I wanna little umphf in my weightloss and maybe this would help ??? Iv been on keto almost 4 months so I think I’m fat adapted so going back in shouldn’t be too hard ( says the website) I’m just scared to go out of ketosis lol I don’t know why I just have a feeling I wouldn’t be able to get back in after going out or me going into keto the second time won’t work as well hahah anyway is it a good thing to every once in a while break ketosis and go back in ? I get the feeling the website said it’s good to do that because it kinda makes your body work hard again instead of just being in the constant state of ketosis which it’s used to by now … idk . Let me know , I’m intruiged .

The point of a ketogenic diet is to keep insulin levels as low as possible for as long as possible. For that reason, I don’t follow the logic of eating carbohydrate, since it raises insulin. I don’t see how that could possibly enhance your weight loss, since insulin is the fat storage hormone, and the fat cells will only release their fat when insulin is low.

On the other hand, since you are fat-adapted, your mitochondria should be more flexible than they were when you ate primarily carbohydrate, and so should find it easier to return to fat burning fairly quickly. So if you want an occasional high-carb meal, it shouldn’t be too harmful.
