Brain Fog Still after 2.5 mths

I’ve been doing keto for 2.5 mths and have had brain fog the entire time…with the exception of 2 days where my brain felt AMAZING! I dont see anything different with that week of food tracking either. I cant figure out what i’m doing wrong! My job is even suffering because i’m literally dumb as rocks right now. I dont think i’m fat adapted…since i’m not feeling great. I have a keto blood monitor and i’m in and out of ketosis everyday…so i’m thinking thats the problem. And My BG is 100-110. Cant seem to get that lower either! No sweeteners. No dairy. I’m Carnivore this past week to help brain fog and its not helping. I’m doing all the salt and magnesium supplementing. My fat intake on average is 110g. My protein 70 average. Carbs around 10. If I up my carbs I gain weight!! Maybe I need more fat? I weigh 165 and i’m 5’6”.
Someone please help. This brain fog is absolutely ruining my life!

I’m so sorry to hear that you are struggling like this. Let’s see if we can get to the bottom of it.

What sources are you using to get your fat?

Hmm, have you tried Intermittent Fasting in conjunction with keto? I feel like it really makes a difference with my mental clarity. Other than that, from what you’ve said alone, you Should be in ketosis and experiencing mental clarity. Or you could be seriously lacking in sodium which can attribute to that fogginess. Make sure you take in salt with every meal and use it liberally when seasoning meat

Well with carnivore theres a lot of fat from the meat. And then i use coconut oil and have MCT oil in my decaf coffee. Before mostly meat WOE i was having avocados too.
I put pink himalyan salt in my coffee and water. Drank a bouillon cube yesterday with no difference :frowning:

Oh and pecans too. I actually ate some last night to up my fat. I’m also thinking just meat is not working for me since my anxiety is through the roof!
I should also mention I IF u til at least noon. And i was reading on here that you shouldnt do that until you’re fat adapted, otherwise you’re in starvation mode. Which is exactly what my brain feels like…it’s starving and my body is not giving it what it needs to function. I’m struggling even putting these thoughts together to make sense!

I am interested in what advice you get. I have been on keto for almost 11 months and have not experienced this Brain Fog leaving. Now, I don’t really know how foggy my brain is compared to other peoples, so maybe mine wasn’t that bad before I started. IDK.

I did have several surgeries in the last decade and I noticed a decline in my general health, energy level, mental clarity and memory after each surgery. A coworker had a similar experience with her breast cancer surgeries and we both theorized that something about the surgeries was to blame for this. If that is the case, perhaps keto can’t heal my brain issues.

Well I’ve added more fat. Bumped from 75% to 85% and started taking L-Carnitine and Potassium. We’ll see what happens.
It’s funny that I squirm adding more fat thinking the scale will be up in the morning and YET it’s down. It’s finally actually moving!
Oh…I’ve also dropped the lemon from my water and the Truvia I was adding to it.
