Bored and frustrated - no longer!

…Not with keto though!
I had surgery on my foot last Wednesday and I am now on bed rest for 2 weeks. I can hobble back and forth to the loo or to grab a drink but can’t have my foot down for more then 5 mins per hour.
I’m also on codeine and naproxen and I feel pretty bloated.
The drugs plus the dressing on my foot and the swelling mean that weighing would be a futile exercise, but because I haven’t been able to wander back and forth to the kitchen and my husband is in charge of making dinner (he is learning keto rapidly!) I have been sticking very well to not snacking!
I suspect this will actually be helping me lose weight but I have no way to find out!!
I have another 10 days on this routine but then probably still on painkillers and NSAIDs for a couple more weeks so I have to eat 3 times a day to take them.
I wonder how long it will be for the inflammation to go down so that I can find out if I have actually lost or gained…

Hope that you heal well! Lots of time to listen to all the podcasts?! Hope you do lose too (if my hubby did the cooking I’d DEFINITELY lose!!)

Indeed, the podcasts and reading this forum are both very good ways to pass the time. Especially the recipes section for ideas. :yum:

By way of an update, I am now released from bed rest and healing well and ventured to the scale.
I’m down 3lbs doing nothing but lying down for 2 weeks
That was 3 days ago and since then I’m down another 1lb. My foot is still a little swollen so a bit of that is also water weight in the swelling!!
The scale has been quite stubborn for me for the last couple of months and I am now at a new non-fasted low.
Woop woop!!
KCKO!

Indeed!

Pretty much proves the theory about exercise not helping with weight loss. Lots of other benefits to be sure - I love walking with my buddy every day when I am in Ft Worth! But I don’t do it to lose weight - I do it to get out of the office and spend some time outdoors and it just feels good.

Glad you are on the mend!
