Boots Vit C with Zinc impacting on blood glucose and ketones?

Hi all,
I’m new here, but not new to Keto lifestyle but fell off the wagon for a good six months! I’m back and doing well and been using fasting and carb restrictions to reset my metabolism and of course achieve Keto state. Blood results were great, always (this past week) above .5mmol, mainly .6-.8, with some 1.1 levels.
Ten days in i was still feeling the carb flu (headache mainly) and upped the water and magnesium- still all fine until yesterday… the only difference was I added a Boots Vit C with zinc effervescent tab to my water!
Fitness pal says zero carbs and zero Cals, but I’ve checked them out and they contain sodium saccharine and sodium cyclamate. Does anyone know the impact of these sweeteners on blood glucose and ketones?
My BG went from 4.2 (average) to 5.8 - highest I’ve ever seen it. Ketones went from 0.6 to 0.1!!

Any thoughts please? I might try them again an a few days just to test out the impact do I can rule them out completely?
Thanks
L

I think you have your answer on what they do to your body.

You have to judge by how they affect you as some people will be fine, others won’t.

Not only that, but each artificial sweetener will behave differently in your body.

Thanks for replies. How do these manufactured sweeteners affect others? It’s all a bit intriguing since they are supposed to be zero carbs?!
Guess, it was a rhetorical question, as noted by responses. Think I’ll test it again though, as I don’t understand why still?!

Many people—not all–report insulin spikes after eating one or another of the artificial sweeteners. Note that not everyone is affected by the same sweetener, and that most people who have problems with one sweetener seem to be pretty sure that they don’t have any problems with others. It seems to be a completely idiosyncratic phenomenon, so your mileage is by definition guaranteed to vary.
