I’m fairly new. I’ve searched the archives, but don’t see an other comparisons. Ive being doing a grass fed collagen supplement for about 2 months. Almost daily. I don’t see any dramatic changes. My neck skin seems a bit tighter. My hair seems a bit fuller. Other than that I don’t notice much. Who else is doing the supplement? Your results? Are you doing bone broth? What do you see?
Bone broth vs collagen supplement
I’m too am also curious about the answer to this.
What collagen supplement have you been taking?
results could take a while, but you may never be able to objectively measure it. studies ahve shown that radioactively marked collagen does get deposited in joint tissue.
i do hydrolyzed collagen every day in coffee, and i drink both broth as well. no two bone broths are the same but in general the difference is that bone broth can have electrolytes. sometimes i put the collagen into bone broth.
sometime bone broth can just be weakly flavored water with very little collagen.
I have been taking collegen for years and noticed the difference when I stopped.
I exercise and would get little aches and pains now and then, but they would always right themselves. A few months ago I came down with a hamstring and IT band wailing at me, plus some tennis elbow. They just hung on. I finally went to PT for the leg, which helped some, but it still bothered.
I sat one day, icing my leg and trying to think what was different about this tendonitis than other bouts I have had, and I realized I had run out of collegen and hadn’t replaced it. I bought a new can and all my aches are improved. Not 100% yet, but on the way.
I like collegen instead of bone broth because it is concentrated and easy. I mix it in my coffee that I am going to have anyway every morning. Bone broth is good, but I don’t have it anywhere near every day.
I’ve just ordered some collagen capsules to see if they help at all with the ligament in my hip that went ping last year and is still mildly annoying…
