Body V Mind

#1

Hi All

Long story short I had the worst nights sleep possibly since I started (almost exactly two months ago); mainly due to heat in our country I don’t even remember actually falling asleep and waking up property.

Interestingly however I felt I really clicked with Keto food. I’ve found a bit of technique in not making too much and not over complicating ingredients; and I was enjoying my first double cream coffees, and one of my best days eating wise. I only ate ‘large’ at lunch time. I felt pretty damn amazing all day doing some first proper exercise in a while out of choice also (maybe I was just pumped from this and the IF?).

Anyhow, I think what happened was I almost perfectly hit fuelling my body with fats lasting a long time but my mind didn’t get any proper rest.
The lack of sleep today has brought some real mental challenges. I felt pretty good still when I woke up, but when I got to work about 10am I just felt completely out of whack.

I guest my question is; has anyone else experienced a mismatch between the body being fuelled really well and lack of mental strength (note; I have suffered with depression and anxiety, and some panic attacks in the past so lack of sleep really beings forward the anxiety of some of these symptoms).

Is there anything in the ‘Keto way’ that I can do to prevent this in the future, or bring my brain back up in line with the body on essentially no good sleep for 48hrs?

I have had intermittent sleeping problems since before I was keto due to back and neck pain and other causes. When I have disrupted sleep I’m extremely tired and have brain fog. Keto did not seem to make a difference.

I just try to steal a nap during the day and hope for the best. Please let us know if you find something better.
