I’ve been mostly keto since June this year. I have annual blood workups for work and over the last year I:
The Good:
Lost about 30 Pounds
HDL Cholesterol increase from 42 to 59 mg/dL
Triglycerides down from 282 to 121 mg/dL (!)
T. Chol/HDL Ration down from 6.8 to 4.9 ratio units
VLDL Cholesterol Cal down from 56 to 24 mg/dL
Glucose, Serum decreased from 88 to 79 mg/dL
The Questionable:
Total Cholesterol increase from 285 to 291 mg/dL
LDL Cholesterol Calc (I’m not sure exactly what this is) increase from 187 to 208 mg/dL
Phosphorus, Serum decrease from 3.2 to 1.9 mg/dL
Potassium, Serum up from 4.7 to 5.5 mmol/L
Should I be concerned about the increase in total cholesterol? my ratio is much better… and VLDL is the really bad stuff an is much lower (by my reading).
With my potassium and phosphorus numbers I suspect that my electrolytes are out of whack.
I guess I’m just wondering if people would see this report as a cause for joy or concern. Thanks for reading. The triglyceride decrease itself has me thinking that sticking with keto is probably a good idea.
Thanks for any feedback,
Travis
