Hi all,

Super new on here. Literally created an account 20 mins ago. Anyways, I’ve been on Keto for 2 months now and live it. Lost 15lbs. I’ve been try to “educate” my family on the diet for sometime now. My Mom especially. She has a family history of diabetes and heart disease. The reason I’m posting is because she recently got blood work done and has some concerns about her cholesterol levels. She has been doing Keto dieat for about 1month. Not super strict but a good start. I attached her blood work results. Maybe you guys can help me in determining whether the diet has been working or not. I appreciate anything you all can give. And I apologize if this is already a topic. ! Hope the images work.

You would need to post page 1 as well. Cholesterol numbers can do some strange things in the first few months of keto. It is usually recommended to not get cholesterol tests done until 6 months to 1 year after starting keto. If your mom is losing fat, then that can throw off the numbers. Plus, does she have blood work prior to starting keto to compare it to? That would be the most useful way to see if the numbers are trending in the right direction. HDL and triglycerides are the best indicators, not total cholesterol and ldl. As long as HDL is trending upwards and trigs are going down (or below 150), then things are looking good.

Her numbers look great. HDL of 72-- that’s fantastic! Triglycerides are fine. Tell her to keep up the good work!
