Blood sugar spikes during ovulation or pre-menstrual time?

(Donna Alford) #1

Does anyone else experience blood sugar spikes during ovulation or pre-menstrual time despite no changes in diet?

Yes, I posted something on this recently. The spike correlates with a drop in ketones. Apparently it’s only brief but something to be aware of.

If I could dial in exactly when those days are I would fast or watch my fat intake like a hawk.

Thank you! I have been baffled by the spikes. I haven’t changed my eating, so to have it soar to 165 on eggs and bacon was alarming. Ovulation is the only possible variable.

How do you know you are having a blood sugar spike?

I check my BS regularly. When it goes up to 165 2 hours after breakfast, I consider that a spike, as it has been running around 100.
