Blood sugar is high on keto

Hi my girlfriend and I have been on keto for a few months. Last month we started testing our blood sugar and I’ve been in the testing in the low 100’s and my girlfriend has been testing in the mid 90’s. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong she meal preps for us every week, We eat and drink the same things and she’s losing weight and I’ve put on 10 pounds. I’m more active than she is, I circuit train and do kickboxing and jiu jistu 3 times a week. I’m confused and don’t know what’s going on and I was wondering does anybody have any idea or ideas?

I have been keto now for about 7 months.

On carbs my glucose averaged about 140. On keto it goes down to between 100 and 110.

I don’t get below 100 unless I fast for 20 hours or more. After 3 days I can get down into the 60’s.

I am not an expert, but I hope it helps seeing that someone else has the same experience.

Do you both consume the same caloric amount (aka portion sizes) and have the same macros (aka % of carbohydrates, protein & fat)?

Another difference between 2 people consuming the same diet is the metabolism rate (if she has a faster metabolism, she will burn more calories than you), and also the level of insulin resistance (the one with a higher insulin resistance will loose weight more slowly)

I don’t think the level of blood sugar is a good measurement to determine who will loose more weight. Two individuals in the mid 90’s to lower 100’s sound pretty much the same to me.

Thanks for the replies. We eat the same things, today I think I found the culprit. Splendia raises my blood sugar and knocks me out of ketosis. We both went to Starbucks today and had an americano blended with heavy cream and sugar free cinnamon dolce, her blood sugar was 95 and my blood sugar went up to 157
