Blood meter question

So I hear people say “checked my ketones and they were at 1.5 no wonder why I feel so great today”

So I have noticed when my ketones are the highest that’s when i feel the worst…

Is that strange?

It’s why I gave up on testing and feel it’s really pointless - though I never tested blood (only breath via a ketonix).

I figured if I was under 25g/day carbs, I was pretty much guaranteeing ketosis anyway, so what’s the point in testing for it.

But yeah, there was no rhyme or reason for why my test results were the way they were. I experimented a lot with that ridiculous thing, and it said I was in ketosis when I shouldn’t have been, and said I wasn’t when I was 2 days into a fast, etc. I gave up and just did the KCKO thing, and that worked for me.

I got tired of testing ever day and it told me I was always in ketosis. Seemed pointless to test for what I already knew. Now I just stick to my macros and enjoy life.

So basically you just go off of how you feel? Correct? It’s crazy, I have noticed if I am sitting at .6-.9 I feel good but anything over 1.0 I feel dizzy and just dragging ass…

I don’t know, I think people misinterpret things. Like, there were times where I felt like I was SURE I was out of ketosis by the way I felt - but then I’d test and it would say I was definitely “in”.

And the reverse was also true - I felt like a million bucks and thought “Yeah, boy! I’m definitely in…” only to test and see that I was “out”, despite the fact that I was in the middle of a pretty long fast.

Screw all that. Testing is for those who like to chase numbers - go for it if you like, but I hate having to explain discrepancies to myself. Here I am, 2.5 years later, 145lb gone, and I just trust the process.

You don’t need to test blood, urine or breath to succeed at this. Would ANY reasonable person consider this a feasible way of life if you did?

Ya, I let my hunger drive what and when I decide to put something in my mouth. Life seems to just work better and I don’t stress.

Hard to argue with that kind of experience! Well done sir!

From what I can decipher with all the vast information floating around is that if you are seeing higher readings it is because your energy requirements from the body at that specific time of testing is lower than the volume of ketones being produced and distributed to the blood stream. This is giving you a full tank so to speak and since the blood is saturated the rest of the excess ketones will be dispelled through the urine stream. This will also show high on pee stixs at the same time. (high blood levels and high pee stix)
I have no proof but it does sound reasonable to me.
