Blood Ketones Changed Within Two Hours

(Liz) #1

Hello gang!

I tested this morning before eating, at 8AM my blood Ketones were at 0.7
Then I had two cups of MCT Oil Coffee.
I was curious, so I tested my blood Ketones again at 10AM, and they were at 0.5

I’m totally intrigued by this. I feel like the inverse would have been true and if anything I would have tested higher or remained the same. I’ve only eaten a handful of macadamia nuts this morning to break my fast. Does anyone have familiarity with what might have lowered my level so quickly?

Levels are up and down all the time and 0.2 difference is nothing really.

Have you measured your ketones 2 or 3 times in a row to check repeatability? I have seen reports here that the readings are not that repeatable. So some variability might be just part of the meter and strip.
