Biology Art

Well this is definitely one of those “there is no other place for it” things.

In keto-related videos and articles I am always reading about various cells and membranes and their components and mitochondria etc. etc. etc.

This is a CGI-created detail artistic version of a cell as seen with some of the most powerful microscopes

Just beautiful. The role of computer artists in helping with visualizations of biology is really just fabulous.

Every tiniest mote of our body is so divinely complex

That is cool. So, so cool.

Where did you find that?

Reddit. But I found the artist:

This is why everything is so complex. Very cool picture, it just needs a (huge?) key to decode what we’re seeing.

That is so beautiful, nice!!

I recognised the mitochondrion, but that was it, lol!

#7

What do they look like/where are they?

(Bacon is a many-splendoured thing) #8

The mitochondrion in this picture is shown in the middle of the left edge. It’s partial, you have to imagine most of it lying off the left edge. But that round, bean-shaped profile with the purple dots and the squiggly line running through it is unmistakeably a mitochondrion.

I wish I knew what all the other organelles and structures are!

Have a new ‘biology art’ pic I saw in passing.

Cool! I see Golgi bodies, the endoplasmic reticulum, and a couple of mitochondria!
