I measure blood glucose to see what various foods do to me, and it’s quite informative. But I notice my numbers (not diabetic) are all over the place. Not high, just a huuuuuge range before eating (so no food in my stomach for 4 -8 hours). My waking number is pretty steady but my midday ones can be anywhere from 70-99, depending on I-have-no-idea-what. Is that what other people find, too? That huge swing?
BG confusion
“There are other things that affect my blood sugar other than sugar. Low sleep, high stress, PMS, heavy exercise, under eating - really anything at all that causes the body to stress out will increase my BG.”
A response from you on another thread. Doesn’t this answer what your asking?
I have swings but I don’t consider them un-natural if this is what your aking.
Yes, with the varying readings I have seen the pattern. I was just wondering about such a wide, 30-point swing. Is that what others experience? I’m new to testing and can’t find that anywhere.
For that matter, my BG can swing 10 points in two readings back to back, so I’m not even sure how accurate any of it is. Does that happen frequently to folks around here, too? Thanks for your help.
Which meter? BG meters are horrendously inaccurate. 30 point swing is within the margin of error
