BF loses 6 inches in waist as side effect of eating low carb

#1

My boyfriend wasn’t even trying to lose weight, he just ate what I cooked us and after a year or two he lost 6 inches in his waist. 36 waist down to 30.

So much for those who say meat, cheese & fat make people fat. LOL. that’s all we eat besides above ground non starchy veggies along with raspberries.

We occasionally, maybe once per week eat a few black beans in our chilli or a handful of nuts.

Awesome sneaky keto!

Hes much healthier now. Stands 5’10 and 168lb now

You’re right, it is LOL! People are so sorely mistaken about what’s healthy.

Imagine if people did this to their significant others without telling them it was keto or what it was going to do to them. It’s a long term practical joke of the best kind.

What a great story! I have not tried them, but some on this site make chili with black soybeans, they are lower in carbs (8 grams per half a cup, as opposed to 19 per half a cup of black beans) and you could probably have it more frequently.

Again, disclaimer - I haven’t tried them.

Although they’re unfermented soy…Not sure about that.

Indirectly did keto by directly taking the food  Results are fantastic!!

Thank you for the interesting success story.

I was thinking of mentioning the black soybeans, but you weren’t asking for advice. I use them fairly often, especially for chili. As Regina said, they are 8 grams of carbs per half cup–but that’s if you’re counting total carbs. Seven of those are fiber, so it’s just 1 gram of net carbs!

(Of course, some people don’t want to use soy, for various reasons.)

Thanks for the suggestion regarding black soybeans, I didn’t know about them! I’ll have to try them. Can I buy them affordably at Aldi, Walmart and the like?

#11

Can you explain more about the unfermented soy ctviggen?

#12

Yeah I don’t count fiber carbs, your body doesn’t digest them so I only look at the net carbs… wow 1g… amazing!

I’m in Canada. Health food stores sell them, and some supermarkets; I’m not sure about Walmart. I live rurally and don’t have a car, so I buy them online from Amazon or Walmart now.

It depends on whom you believe, but I’ve chosen avoid unfermented soy products:

It’s up to you, and might not cause much trouble if eaten infrequently. When I was on low fat, I ate rice and beans all the time, though not soy. But I don’t feel any desire now to eat beans, which cause me gastric distress (which I thought was “normal” back when I was eating low fat).
