Best keto options in UK Indian restaurants

#1

I am going to the UK for the weekend next week and my (non keto) hubby will have to go for his favorite ruby murray! What dishes would be keto friendly for me?

Best to speak to them as all restaurants have different cooking styles and recipes, plenty add sugars to everything. I tend to go for a lamb sagwala as that’s lower in carbs than other dishes but even then it often tastes too sweet like sugar has been added.

I usually have a dry curry Chicken or Lamb Tikka with a veg dish like spinach or aubergine or mushroom bahji…
The tikka dish should come with some salad stuff as well if you go for that sort of thing.

Yeah definitely the tikka meats are your safest options, some indian restaurants will do a whole tikka chicken or lamb cut.

You could put in a request for a ghee heavy Butter Chicken, but you’d need to speak to the chef for assurances I’d think.

… definitely no Cobra Beer.

I tend to go for tikka and a side of saag paneer with extra ghee.

Thanks everyone. I definitely think there is added sugar in most Indian restaurant dishes. Chicken tikka it is without rice, naan and cobra beer!

Tandoori is usually safe. Great with saag paneer and lime pickles. Skip the naan, rice, and samosas. This goes for USA/CA Indian restaurants too.

So, a chicken tikka starter and chicken tandoori main course with an Irish coffee for dessert :grin::grin:
