Best keto bread recipe?

#1

I am pretty happy with this one https://www.wholesomeyum.com/keto-low-carb-coconut-flour-bread-recipe/ ut it has TWELVE(!) eggs per loaf. Not a real coconut taste as there is only one cup of coconut flour/no almond flour. Flax seed meal and loads of seeds. I added some xanthan gum and psyllium husks and it turned out a pretty loaf and easy to slice.

I would prefer a lighter slice and more “real bread” like texture as this texture is fairly dense (even though i separated the eggs and whipped the whites before folding them in) and wondering what the best keto bread recipe is …I like this one and it is certainly filling (and at about 250 calories per slice it should be!)

A lot of eggs with coconut flour isn’t unusual. Coconut flour is very absorbent.

For example, if a recipe had 3 or 4 cups of almond flour and you wanted to use coconut flour instead, you’d probably need to replace that almond flour with:

  • 1 cup of coconut flour
  • Up to 6 eggs
  • Up to 1 cup of additional liquid or fat

I gave up on getting decent loaves.

So I do buns or muffin top breads. My favorites are:

and this is a go to bread for us

Thanks. Two of these use plain egg whites. What do you do with the excess yolks?

Add them to your eggs at breakfast. :cowboy_hat_face:

I rarely make breads these days, but sometimes you just want something to get the butter and cheese from the plate to your mouth!
These are the easiest I have found

You can add parmesan, paprika, herbs, poppy seeds or even erythritol, for a sweet scone type biscuit.
They are best hot from the oven!

Use them in sauces like hollandaise, etc. I will sometimes add extra yolks to homemade mayo, yummy.
For the biscuits, DH buys small package of egg whites only, it equals the 10, so no yolks to add to anything. But other things we cook will call for whites only sometimes, then we make sauces or do the mayo trick.
