Belly fat

Is the dreaded Belly Fat the last to go? I was skinny fat , so I had skinny arms and legs , no butt and was fat from my belly to my pecs , (man boobs) with no back fat. I only really lost water weight at the start , around 3kg and feel like I’m slowly getting skinnier where I was already skinny and my gut is the same. My shorts feel slightly looser but you can not tell by looking in a mirror that my gut and man boobs have shrunk. I was hoping my body would eat these first as it’s where I carry all my fat. :man_facepalming: It would really suck to lose any more mass from my arms and legs and keep the gut as it probably looks worse than when I carried a bit more bulk on them. It Looks ridiculous… lol :joy::joy::joy:

Yes the belly fat is last to go. Sounds like you need to increase your protein intake and force your body to consume more of that belly fat and maybe even increase your lean muscle mass.

Usually, mainly because it’s the biggest concentration for most, so it’s usually burning off at the same rate as the rest, but there’s more of it so it always seems like it’s holding out.

You sure about that? Because being skinny fat is a medical condition (and a dangerous one at that). I’m assuming you’re not though, more likely just have some extra fat in the belly area and not as much everywhere else? Because that’s not what skinny fat is. Most people aren’t.

As a dude and long time lifter… yes it would! I’ve found the TKD/CKD versions of Keto way better for us that like having muscle on us. I’ve also lost more fat doing it that way than I did in 4yrs of doing standard keto even with the extra carbs in there. You don’t have to lose lean mass to lose fat, you just gotta attack it all right and use each macro for what it’s good for and with the correct timing.

What are you going for ultimately? Just lifting for the health aspect, or going for size/physique?

Yep, it doesn’t sound like skinny fat, just being slim with a too big belly, too many of us have that (okay, I have much to lose so I have fat elsewhere too, hips, even thighs but most of it is on my belly. and I am quite okay above it)… If you lose fat, you lose from there too but indeed, it doesn’t look like it, that’s why it’s good to have pants that fits, it shows little changes (I can’t take my own measurements if my life depends on it).

I can’t imagine how you could lose a significant amount of muscle if you eat right and I doubt the body is willing to make someone’s arms, shoulders totally lean, dry while there is plenty of fat on the belly… If you only have extra fat on your belly and you lose fat, you should lose it from there.
It’s truly unfortunate, we should slim down completely to look okay but this is our life  My SO is slim since decades, his Mom thinks he is too skinny but he usually have some extra fat and that is ALL on his belly… He can slim down and he is still very far from being dry, he just looks normal, tiny fat rounding his more or less tiny muscles (he has very muscular legs and that’s it), that looks good. It would be quite weird and unusual if he had almost zero fat on his arms and shoulders with a pot belly! I don’t think humans do that normally, the body likes to keep some basic level of fat when we still have plenty of extra on some parts.

So if you lose muscle, you don’t eat right, if you lose fat from your arms, well it seems you have fat to lose from there, I understand it may give an unfortunate look and it’s frustrating but my body is like that too. As I lose fat, my head completely slims down, the tiny extra fat from my arms go, my thighs get thinner… My belly? That still sports its 2 really big fat rolls! :rage:
We just need to finish what we started and then things will be balanced.

Hi. Thanks for all the info. I didn’t realise there was a condition related to skinny fat. I don’t have that at far as I know. I’m only fairly new here so I don’t know what ckd or tkd are but it sounds very interesting. And for the lifting question, I haven’t really planned to lift anything but may start if I don’t get the desired look from losing the fat. My work is semi physical so I was hoping with a lower body fat percentage I would have a more toned look from just working and eating keto. I’m fairly new into it time will tell. I’ve heard all the stories of people losing 10kg in a month and wanted to lose my gut quicker. But I’m taking it that the people who lose massive amounts of fat probably have a lot of it to lose. Thanks for your time. :+1:t2:

TKD is Targeted Keto, it’s when you spike glucose right before a workout for super energy during it when your workouts are very glycolitic and that’s where keto kinda fails in the energy dept.

CKD is Cyclical Keto, which is where you do a carb load when needed to keep muscle glycogen up for longer heavier lifting sessions.

Toned is a misnomer, the “toned” look is simply good muscle mass and low bodyfat. A muscle can’t be “toned” but you can build them up, and you can burn bodyfat, that’s how you get that look. For that look, resistance training should definitely be in the mix. That, and muscle aside from raising your RMR (resting metabolic rate) allows you to continue to burn fat easier, and is the best way to dispose of excess glucose. Those 10kg drops are just water, we can’t actually burn fat that fast. I’ve used every chemical cheat there is (meaning the ones that actually work) and that much is still near impossible minus one, and with that one, the difference in dosing as small as 100mg can be the difference between crazy fat burn, and literal death!

Depending on how much you have to lose, losing a bunch of fat without muscle under there isn’t great look, that’s how you wind up skinny and light, but flabby with lose skin. Sometimes is hard when you’re lifting for what seems like forever and you don’t (think) it’s working… until the fats off! That’s why it’s important to track lifts. Then you have no question you’re getting stronger.

Lot of different ways to go about it for sure!

Hi. This makes a lot of sense to me. Thank you for this valuable information. It’s sounds like I will obviously doing some strength training to get the look I’m wanting. Not wanting to get to big of course , but I will look into it more. I will see how I feel from training first and maybe add some carbs after that if I just feel too flat to do it. Thanks :+1:t2:
