Been extra hungry lately

Hello, I’ve been on keto for 8 months and have lost around 80ish pounds which is awesome and keto rocks as everyone here knows. The problem I’m having is I have been just freaking hungry the last few weeks. I drink my butter coffee each morning from 7-noon with 3tbs of butter and tbs of mct oil then eat a dinner of usually steak and spinach cooked in butter or coconut oil. This routine with very little change up has gotten me this far but my appetite has been out of control lately. Any ideas on what I should try? Thank you in advance.

Add some more fat and see how you do. Heck, if I’m hungry, I EAT!

I also used BPC for a lot of my weight loss and then started to experience hunger as well. I switched to eating food for two meals (giving up the fats in my coffee and just drinking it black), and I not only continued to lose weight, but wasn’t hungry anymore. I did lunch and dinner initially with about a 18-20 hour fasting window. I recently switched to doing eTRF and having a steak for breakfast and a salad and protein with fat for lunch (or a cooked veggie as time allowed), finishing by 1 or 2 PM, and find this version of IF even more gratifying. Maybe give this a try?

It could also be a seasonal thing. Some people eat more in the winter.

That said, you should probably eat if you are hungry.

80lbs is a big loss. I too would suggest an increase in your fat consumption…there’s so much less of you to chow down on these days! :grinning:

Throw an avocado or some bacon in there. Your body is smart, listen to your hunger signals.

Are you sleeping enough? How about stress? Both of these can affect hunger.

I’ve had this same problem lately!

I had luck with trying new high fat snacks- I switched out my string cheese and macadamias for avocado squished in coconut oil. Maybe try mixing it up a bit? I’m curious if it works for you too.

How many pounds of body fat do you feel you’re carrying around now? How many did you have when you noticed yourself getting hungry? You may have burned off enough so that you can’t produce enough energy from body fat to meet your daily requirements. If so, you would need to supply the difference from additional plate fat.
