Bathroom related issues

Hello,

I have been keto for about 7 weeks (usually mid to heavy ketosis according to urinalysis test strips), and a little over 2 weeks ago my stool loosened up and has became watery. I didn’t change my diet outside of adding some dairy for additional fat (ranch on salads and some gouda cheese). I rarely consumed dairy before going keto and have been loving all the other aspects of being keto.
I have also been struggling to get enough calories since my diarrhea has correlated with an upset stomach when eating high caloric meals. Like a steak on spinach with ranch dressing and a little salsa.
So I have removed dairy, added a probiotic, decreased fat consumption (until today), added tri salts, and have been drinking more water. I am struggling to get 1000kcals and am dropping weight too rapidly. I’m a big guy but 47lbs in 7 weeks is quick.

Any suggestions or guidance?

I have eggs with vegs on a low carb wrap for breakfast
Protein shake or salad for lunch
Steak/chicken/fish for dinner with a salad plus a salted cucumber and pickles.

My macros are around 1000kcal, 100g fat, 70g protein, 50 ttl carbs, and 10-15 net carbs.

I take a multivitamin, nootropic, shot of low sugar kombucha, and a b complex after breakfast.

I added a BF coffee today with kellygold unsalted and coconut oil because it should stimulate the gallbladder if it’s a stomach acid issue. I am afraid to exercise to intensly from fear of a brown bomber.

Short story long!

A pound per day could be considered a lot; but some can disagree. I wouldn’t worry about it terribly unless you drop too low.

Burning bodyfat can result in loose stools. Increasing your calories should help.

Hopefully you can find some fatty foods to eat that don’t upset your stomach.

What about adding some regular cheese, both for the fat/calories and the constipating effects? Or just take an otc anti-diahrea pill.

Thanks for the suggestions! If I add cheese it seems to get worse. The OTC anti diarrhea meds give me constipation and bloating. I have been using them when necessary but rather have a natural solution.

I am having the same problem. Someone suggested psyllium husk. I’ve been drinking 2 tablespoons in 12 ounces of water twice a day for two days now, and so far it’s really been helping.

Another vote for psyllium. Seems counter intuitive but it binds and lets everything come out at the rate it should.

Maybe start with one tablespoon per serving. Trader Joe’s is the cheapest place to get it.

You are only eating 1000 calories a day and you are a bigger person? That seems way too little. I eat about 1500-2000 per day. Not intentionally but the last couple of days I have been tracking to get a sense

I have kind of had the same tummy issues out the back end. I am wondering if raw veggies are doing it so for a few days I am going to stick to cooked vegetables. Anyone else have an opinion raw vs cooked veggies? Today so far so good. I feel like maybe the raw veggies make the food go through my body too quickly. I have read about this in the past and heard cooking veggies helps.

Mine lasted for about 3.5 weeks then went back to regular. Veggies may have been a cause, but I am thinking the main cause for me was the bad gut bacteria being killed off due to lack of sugar then being discharged. I increased my fiber intake through chia seeds to feed the beneficial flora. Probiotics helped as well.
