Bai quick fix for Keto Flu

(Richard M) #1

I have been on keto for 8 days. Today I got the KFlu. I needed something quick so my daughter went out and got me some BAI. Is BAI good alternative to the actual Keto Electrolytes? Or what other product can I get at a store that is better? Before my Keto order comes.

Also, what are your thoughts on Powerade zero sugar sports drink?

Thank you.

Salt is the easiest electrolyte to fix, and when we get enough salt, it helps keep the others properly regulated. If you keep your salt intake a bit higher, that should do the trick, right there.

Ok. Thanks. I have put salt in my lemon water. But are your thoughts on the other products?

Poison.

Plane water is the best sport drink.

Stay away from Coca-cola company products

Don’t know what ‘BAI’ is, so can’t comment. Redmond’s Real Salt and Himalayan pink salt are excellent sources of sodium chloride because they both contain lots of trace minerals. French’s No Salt is an excellent source of potassium and epsom salt magnesium. As noted if you up your sodium you may not need to increase potassium and/or magnesium, depending what you’re eating. In my opinion.

Sorry you have the keto flu! If you follow the advice the other members have given, it should go away soon.

Bai is made from fruit juices, “coffeefruit,” erythritol, and stevia. Not really a good choice for keto, and probably too many carbs (depending on which flavor you get). Better to get your “less than 20 carbs” from vegetables.

First let me say the you all have given has been helpful. Getting much better. The information on this forum is very useful. Thanks.

I’m not contradicting anyone on here. This is what I found.

I hope image shows up. If not look at the website.

Thanks again. I am a newbie and have a lot of questions. But trying.

Hi Richard, there are many different versions and opinions about keto, what’s allowed, what’s harmful, etc., so there is sure to be some disagreement. I don’t think many people on this forum drink fruit-based drinks, or most commercially sold drinks – whether zero calorie or not. People with certain health issues, or certain lifestyles (e.g., weight lifters), might have different needs.

We each have to figure these things out for ourselves. Best wishes.

Nothing wrong with Powerade Zero man, I drink a handful of them daily. You’ll find there are many… let’s go with purists… that basically hate everything here. I’ve tried the Bai drinks and they’re fine but also unneeded. They’re basiicaly just the same thing as Gatorade zero with a lot of trigger words on them for the same types that pay $6 for “cucumber water”. They do have some electrolytes in them but like Gatorade not enough to matter.

I drink them because I like them, no mainstream electrolyte drink actually has enough of anything in it to fix keto flu symptoms. 1/4tsp sea salt, shoot it down and you’re good for the day. You can also do lite salt which is a sodium/potassium mix.

Salt.

You don’t need any of that other stuff.

Thank you to everyone who replied. The information was helpful and money saving.

I see by looking at the dates that I am little late to the party. But, I am sure THANKFUL that this forum (or the party) is still up, going and active. Thanks again.

p.s. I still have a lot of questions. HAHA

By all means feel free to continue with a thread about a topic you are interested in, regardless of the dates. In contrast to other sites, these forums encourage continuing old threads in preference to starting new ones. The Dudes like to have all the information in one place, as much as possible.

Salt and potassium. Of course there is no potassium in those commercial drinks because it tastes like poo-poo. (No useful amounts anyway.)

I would distinguish between electrolytes and trace elements. The latter are much more complicated and should be added only if you’re deficient.
