Bad week?

I’m a month in on keto but got a little discouraged this week after only losing a pound and according to a keto strip fell out of ketosis. I can’t think of anything I did wrong? Any ideas on why this could’ve happened?

We’d need more info to try to help. What have you been eating? It’s not uncommon for people to have hidden carbs that derail progress early on.

My diet has been simple. Bacon, eggs in the morning with butter/oil and occasionally cheese. Lunch/dinner a protein and a green vegetable. The few times I snacked it would be a fruit (berries)

I’d skip the berries starting out. Once you’ve been in ketosis you can usually add small amounts of raspberries, blackberries, or strawberries in.

What proteins have you been eating for lunch and dinner?

The keto strip is probably the problem. The strip is looking only at ketones you’re dumping in your urine. Your body figures out how to efficiently use ketones over time which means you don’t have that huge dump of ketones in your urine. It doesn’t mean you went out of ketosis. It means you are in the process of “fat adapting”… unless you really did eat too many carbs, and it didn’t sound like it according to your description.

A lot of people don’t even bother with those strips. Eat according to what you’re supposed to be eating and let your body work out it’s chemistry.
