Bacon Jerky aka Heaven

For my birthday my wife got me a box of bacon jerky varieties. Where has it been all my life! I may have purchased an Excalibur 9 row dehydrator. Anyone make their own bacon jerky? Will the precooked Costco bacon work, or should it all be fresh fried? I plan to use some of my homemade bacon as well.
