After doing a week of it, my best thing to say is eat 1 to 1 1/2 lbs of bacon. Eat til full. Make sure your drinking. Also if you feel bacon just isn’t cutting it you can sub two slices of bacon for one egg. I didn’t end up doing that, but you can.

Love this fast! Let us know how it goes.

Kind of off topic question; does anyone experience that bacon does not make them as thirsty as it used to on Keto diet?

Good luck with it. I’m starting my modified bacon fast tomorrow. Watch that you don’t get too much protein, as too much can stall you. Also supplement with potassium, up to 4700mg to cancel out all that sodium.

Thanks

Cast iron skillet.

@Anneadele Are you eating regular bacon or low salt bacon?? Just wanting to know, since today is my day 1 on my bacon and eggs fast. Let us know if at some point your appetite goes way down. Someone said theirs did and so they were only eating twice a day!

I had to switch my bacon didn’t look at the ingredients it had carbs but no regular Costco thick sliced bacon

(Davy) #12

Yeah. I’m thinking of switching to low salt and just adding Pink Himilayan Salt instead to get my sodium. It’s a much, much better form of salt than what would be in bacon. Course I have to eat up the 2.5 packs of regular bacon I’ve got. lol

When bacon is present, eat it fast

One more tip.

If you can find bacon without sugar, good on you. If you can’t, or if it’s too expensive (e.g. the stuff at Whole Foods is twice the cost and half the size), soak it overnight. Sugar, and salt, are water soluble.

We don’t do this ourselves, so I can’t vouch for it. (I just ordered uncured bacon from the butcher, which tastes like pork chops, but is bacon). But, my wife cannot, CANNOT, stand oven cooked bacon. (It’s bacon, not bake-on). It’s too salty for her, because pan-frying does remove some of the salt when you flip-it flop-it flip-it flop-it.
