Audiobooks

(James storie) #21

Cool! I have purposely not seen the movie because I wanted to read the book first. I learned a long time ago that the book is always better!

I do it when cleaning the house on an evening. I work full time and have 2 children 5 & 1… multi tasking!!!

I don’t think it’s on the UK one :disappointed:

Great recommendations.
I listened to The Case Against Sugar TWICE in 5 days–once on my way to El Paso and again on my way back.

Didn’t know there would be a difference

A few things…

  1. I listen to my audiobooks and podcasts while driving and while at the gym. (plus i find that at 125% speed, i have no issue. Most audibooks are ready fairly slow.

  2. Most libraries now offer up free audiobooks via apps like overdrive. you just need to go the library and set it up and then you can get access to all the audiobooks, ebooks they and their partner librarires have. Only downside is that they only have so many copies so sometimes you have to put a book on hold and once you get them, they are good for 3 weeks. If those are no-go’s, then audible is the way to go.

Has anyone read or listened to Dr mercolas new book fat for fuel

(Anna Juliet) #28

Yeah I would like to know someone’s review on this!!

(Naomi Brewster) #29

Love your list - I’ve also been listening to ā€˜found my fitness’ - Dr Rhonda Patrick, and ā€˜High Intensity Health’ - Mike Mutzel. Both stellar podcasts with great interviewees.

you find time, either listen or read. What do you do for 30 min before bed, start a habit of reading or listening. I read or listen to 2-3 books a week

@Dan_Morrison
Thanks, yes. There could be many times I could use for listening. While preparing meals, on a walk, at the gym, and before I sleep. Even while getting ready in the morning. I will make better use of my time. I’m not even a TV watcher! But there are many podcasts I’d love to hear.

I’m hoping that the Lore of Nutrition will soon be on Audible!

I get my audiobooks from the local library free on Overdrive…
and I listen to podcasts
including
Diet and Health today (zoe)
The Low Carb Cardiologist
Peak Human
Health Hacker with Adam MacDougall
Mindvalley Podcast with Vishen Lakhiani
The way I heard it with Mike Rowe
Tim Ferriss
Lore
and you can listen to them faster so you go through them quicker…
we listen faster than we read…

I hear ā€œLies Your Doctor Told Youā€ is supposed to have a fricking awesome narrator.
