Thank you, and you’re welcome
Ate unlimited fat, reduced protein, lost bodyfat, gained lean mass
What a great discussion! This is going to be read on an upcoming episode of 2 Keto Dudes.
@richard and @Jason_v could talk science circles around me without looking up sources like I need to do, but I got to tell you @carl, this self experiment with bookend DEXA’s was my greatest achievement on the ketogenic diet since getting my A1c of 12 to 5.
Lol.
Or maybe free weight leg pressing 730 pounds was it. Out lifting actual bodybuilders. Heh. So epic. HEH HEH
Wait.
Getting my story published on Dr.Fung’s IDM site,
https://intensivedietarymanagement.com/brenda-join-party-ketofest/
and then Andreas Eenfeldt’s Diet Doctor site. That was major epicness for me.
Wait. No. Riding my motorcycle from Minnesota to Connecticut for KetoFest FASTED.
Incredible feat of endurance.
Or my first solo motorcycle trip to the Ozark mountains after the fest. Maybe that.
Wait. There’s my four appearances on your podcast, #21 being the first.
A 10 day water fast in February. Incredible.
Low Carb Breckenridge. Fantastic camaraderie in that 2KetoDudes Party house kitchen. One of my best memories
So much epicness in my life, and it’s all because of the ketogenic diet.
WHAT’S NEXT??!!??
LIFE IS SO DAMN GOOD
SO DAMN GOOD
WATCH OUT WORLD
…Let’s not forget the most important thing here. I’m a good person. @carl @richard are GOOD people.
They don’t retaliate when insulted. They don’t bully or ridicule. They would never manufacture memes to belittle others. They are above reacting and responding to attacks on their personal body or character.
That’s rare.
Rare. Rare. Rare.
And that is called: integrity.
Watch these guys. They’re going places. And they’ve only just started.
I don’t normally read long posts, but when I do, they have to be as good as this. Great insight.
No bc it is paid out of income tax, so if you have15x population you would have 15x more $$ from taxes. Easy.
Any how do you account for the tens of millions that aren’t paying taxes and abusing the system more than anybody? TAX the working even MORE… No thanks. The government has proven basically with EVERYTHING it does is that’s it incapable. You don’t trust the people that think you can spend your way out of debt with your health.
Isn’t it grand? This is why I love keto so much! I’ve been ketogenic 4 years now and I’m still learning and experimenting. I don’t expect that to ever change and that’s great because I love this process. Excellent explanation, I missed this. I think you wrote it just after I had completed a three-week motorcycle trip and I don’t think it was online much for a few weeks right when you posted this.
Request from an Admin… Please avoid political arguments. Not singling anyone out, just asking that we avoid topics that are apt to lead to conflict.
Keep it to keto, please?
Question regarding protein needs: necessary protein calculated at .6g/kg current weight or lean body mass? It seems like Dr. Fung is saying current weight but I have seen other things saying protein needs are calculated by LBM. If I use my estimated LBM, I should eat 34 g protein a day that seems low…
Not exactly
So what happens is anyone who makes more than 27k a year pays an additional 2% of their taxable income as a levy - it’s called Medicare, and it pays for ambulance, emergency care, non elective medical procedures in a public ward, and a rebate on pharmaceuticals.
If you earn over 90k and are over 30 you are expected to purchase private insurance or you get slugged an extra 1% levy. Private insurance covers dental, optical, physiotheraphy, private hospital stays, your choice of doctor. It costs a couple of hundred a month for a family.
That private insurance may pay for a DEXA scan, mine doesn’t.
But at $100 each scan … it was well worth it to make sure eating low protein wasn’t drawing down my lean mass.
Not Brenda😊, but there is one in Edina and usually you can find a Groupon that makes it around $100. They offer package deals if you want to get more tests in the future.
