Ate bad yesterday

So I just started the keto diet. Went strong for 2 days and then had a friend over last night and ruined it with pizza and beer. So am I starting all over today or is it going to be a little easier since i had 2 good days of eating? I know i wasn’t in Ketosis yet but I’m hoping I didn’t ruin all progress I’ve made. Thanks for your advice/comments, I’m just still so new to this diet. I’m still learning!

Not even worth stressing about, just hop back on the horse and what happens happens.

The first few days/week are the hardest, my advice is to clear your schedule of everything you possibly can and get a good run at it.

Laura, I’ve been keto a year and half, and I’m still learning stuff. Don’t let this discourage you.

To me (and I have not scientific foundation to base this on) there are two states of ketosis. Nutritional ketosis and living ketosis.

When we started eating keto, I was passionately counting my carbs, restricting my eating window, checking my ketones (multiple times a day). I knew I was in nutritional ketosis. I had the proof!

Now that I’m close to my ideal weight, and I’m eating more than one meal a day, I don’t think so much about nutritional ketosis, but I like to think of my lifestyle as living in ketosis.

I’m in this for life, my life, and I don’t have any intentions of going back to the way I used to eat. I’m not saying I don’t have the occasional “cheat” day, or meal, but I live my life according to the ketogenic diet.

Compared to my old lifestyle, I feel like I’m living in ketosis, and this is living. The life I had before keto wasn’t worth living, and it was only making that life much shorter.

Pizza and beer? I can’t hardly fault you for falling off the wagon for that. :grinning:

The longer you live in ketosis, the better it will get. Trust me. :+1:
