So…the fam and I are at the movies for the first time since going Keto (3 months, we don’t get out much). Super excited to see they had alternate food options other than popcorn and pop. Hubby got a chicken Caesar salad, and it’s pretty decent! Keepin it Keto in real life.

Yummy! And less likely to get dirty looks than crunching pork rinds.
There were a few odd looks during Rogue One the other night as I snacked on a few rinds. I don’t mind though.
A client got me a ticket to the premier of the new Star Wars movie that included a voucher for a drink and a popcorn. This was the evening of day two of the last Zorn Fast. I got a bottle of water and gave the popcorn to the client’s wife.
Only problem was: I couldn’t decide whether I wasn’t eating the popcorn because I’m keto or because I was fasting.
Or because even if you did still eat popcorn, movie theatre popcorn is dreadful, and usually uses toxic oils in place of real butter?
The other day I was toasting some almond slices in a dry frying pan and realized how much they smell like popcorn when they are just toasted perfectly. So today I toasted some more, tossed them with a little butter and salt and took them to the movies with me in a small container. I usually steal a handful or so of my kids popcorn, but I “had my own” today. It was satisfying and delicious and was way better than the pumpkin seeds which are my usual movie snack. It doesn’t take much to satisfy, either.
