Are there any women who are using the ketogenic way of life and longtimer Overeaters Anonymous members here?

I wonder if any members of OA are on this forum and if you would be willing to talk offline (by phone or email) about the ketogenic diet.

Have you had success with keto? Are you abstinent? are you at a healthy weight?

I would love a keto buddy especially if you have maintained your weight loss and are keto and abstinent.

I have been keto for 2 years and am within 5 lbs of goal.

Thank you!

Hi…I was a member of OA here in the UK but the group was small and didn’t stay the course…I have tried to continue with alot of the principles and have been primarily lchf to lose over 130lbs…fell off the waggon last year but back at it again.
Congrats on being so close to goal, great achievement, happy to support you over the last few pounds and on ito maintenance :grinning:

Thank you so much Liz.
I have had much luck with cravings, mood swings and weight loss using Keto! I have even lowered my A1C from 6.0 to 5.4 last time I checked.

The part that is hard for an overeater is watching quantities. So I have been trying to find trigger foods and eliminate them from my food plan. For example I cut out most all the fake sugars. I might even have to cut the nuts because portion control is hard for me.

Also, I don’t know if intermittent fasting is good for an overeater? Do you have any ideas about that?

I have had some sucess with IF…but only after being keto for a while. It seems to be that as I have progressed the all consuming hunger that plagued me before just goes away, therefore I am able to control my eating and not obsess about my next mouthful!
I regularly go from 7pn until 1pm the following day now…if I feel the need I have a tbs of double cream in my coffee but otherwise ok.
Nuts!..I love them and do still include them but when I buy a new supply I immediately weigh and bag them into 25g portions and only include them as part of a meal. That way it doesn’t trigger any binge eating in me at all.
You have done so well to get to wher you are now that I am sure you will continue to suceed :+1::grinning:

I have been Keto for 2-3yrs. Tried OA for a bit but the restriction was triggering.

I’m struggling again and not sure what to do. Nuts and sweetners need to go. But then I feel restricted bc I already have like every food allergy. I eat Keto but eat past full constantly and I find the feeling of full makes me want to stuff myself more.

Just wtf is wrong with me.
