Apple Cider Vinegar (organic)

(Garry (Canada)) #21

I put 2 TBSP ACV + 2 TBSP fresh squeezed lemon juice mixed into 500ml water bottle… I drink one every day. Very refreshing and enjoyable. (I use Mother Earth Organic ACV from Costco—much more cost effective than Braggs).

What benefits do you experience from consuming ACV?

(Jackson ) #23

Yes but maybe dehydration ? usually with water or alone ! Last time I had migraine for 3 days and I’m sure from Acv And I had another try and same symptoms every time ! Once I did the sensitivity test and it was vinegar one of the product which I can’t consume them however I dnt believe my nutriotinast I felt she was materialistic but now I’m starting to believe her test :woman_facepalming:t2:After the acv

(Jackson ) #24

Loss of appetite lower glucose and high ketones … and big headache :joy:

(Rob) #25

Potentially dehydration. Are you getting enough salt, magnesium & calcium? maybe try a gram or two of salt a few minutes before you take the ACV, or just simply live without it. It isn’t an essential part of the Ketogenic WOE and I would say that if it’s adversely affecting you, just don’t take it.

I just had a flashback to a short on Electric Company called Silver Sipper…seems it does not exist online…dang.

(Vladaar Malane) #27

I take a tablespoon a day diluted in my water. I love the taste of ACV in my water.
However, anyone know how that affects PH levels with regards to your body’s bones over long term? I usually eat a salad with lunch, but since I am going to OMAD dinner, I might need to cut back on ACV? I don’t always have salad or green leafy stuff for dinners.

You CAN consume stupid amounts of ACV. Here is an article that talks about the benefits vs. drawbacks of ACV. It mentions two instances where people were consuming 8 oz (nearly 1/4 liter) per day. A 28-y.o. woman developed osteoporosis and another destroyed her teeth. Obviously that makes 8 oz/day a stupid amount.

I bet your nutritionist never did anything but regurgitate that list to you, never evaluating it with a critical eye. Your problem might be yeast. That’s not a doctor talking, just me looking at your list with a critical eye. But eliminating yeast for two weeks, and then reintroducing to test, couldn’t hurt (except for the migraine thing.). It could be fungi/spore-generating organisms in general (ie., molds) as well - are you allergic to penicillin by chance? I had a co-worker who couldn’t eat aged cheese or yeast bread (:sob:). ACV is made with yeast, and other items on your list are often in products made with yeast (like those grains, ie., bread). And then there’s the cheese. I can’t imagine one person having to eliminate everything on your list!

It might also be wise on your part to check your system pH and potassium levels, since there are some other high-acid items (citrus) on that list that might cause lowered potassium like the woman in the article.

Looking back on the “8 oz/day” thing makes me think that the wise old adage “everything in moderation” would apply.

If I’ll believe this test it means I can’t eat anthg so for me to be gluten free and dairy free and sure grains it’s more than enough ! Sure I want to heal my body but I want to live also and feel I’m a human ! I dnt want to believe this test I prefer to travel and Dow accurate test and pay double the amount ! I did another test in U.K. The DNA test and here is the result

Is there really a big difference in effects between organic ACV with the Mother vs. The common stuff you buy off the shelf? Actual science only, please.

(Stan Brooks) #32

There is no difference between organic and non organic food. https://www.acsh.org/news/2009/09/08/the-organic-food-nutrition-wars

(Rob) #33

Arguably, the more important thing with regard to choosing an Apple Cider Vinegar is whether it has “The Mother” in it, which is the stuff which settles at the bottom of the bottle.

(Leon C) #34

So, 10 days on and I’m drinking a 20oz bottle of chilled water with 2 tablespoons of ACV in every day after my 5/10K run and WOW - damn refreshing to say the least.

(Ken) #35

Sure, I’m aware that that is what is said. I’m looking for the scientific evidence to back up the claim. Is it science or marketing?

#36

@1dcbc209dd834a59f836 You might be sensitive to histamines (which I think are high in ACV). I don’t know much about histamine intolerance, but in case you’re getting a reaction other things as well, it’s probably worth checking out.

(Rob) #37

There appears to be some science in it…

…though I would take some of the more hot-air marketing of it with a pinch of salt before putting the lot on your avocado fries

No, no, no

I’m not disputing the health benefits. I’m trying to determine the difference between regular vinegar and the organic types that come with the Mother.
