Anyone Have Experience with Weight Blankets?

#1

This has nothing to do with Keto…

My niece told me about a weight blanket she recently got. It is a blanket weighted by 25 lbs with glass balls which minimizes your movement during the night. Her doctor recommended it. It is supposed to help you get better sleep and help with anxiety. Physical therapist and doctors have ben recommending them for years. Who knew?

Does anyone have experience with them and can give recommendations?

I haven’t decided to buy one yet. At this point, I am mostly intrigued. I am interested in getting better sleep. I move around a lot at night.

I absolutely love mine. My son is on the spectrum, and has had one for years. I bought this one a few months ago, and I fall asleep so much more quickly. I highly recommend giving it a try.

I have a 25 year old autistic son and those blankets work well for calming some autistic people down. We used to wrap our kid up like a burrito sometimes with a regular blanket for a similar effect. But I guess that I’ve never heard of them being used by non autistic people. I hope it helps you.

They are really soothing and put me to sleep straight away! I think they are good for anxiety too.

Thank you for the thread and responses. I’m a lifelong insomniac, although it isn’t so bad in recent years. I wish I’d known about something like this long ago.

I had a friend from eastern Europe. She said the custom in her country was to wrap babies up tightly (swaddling)–that it calmed them down. It seemed strange to me, but I guess there must be some value in it.

I use one and it helps with my anxiety. I’ve got dementia, which ratchets up anxiety a ton, and the blanket (20 lbs) is very soothing.

Digging up this old thread, pardon the mess. LoL. Anyone have good results? From what I’m told a good portion of fat loss happens when we sleep, so if we get bad sleep it negatively affects our weight loss.

I am contemplating

My daughter has one she really likes. It’s heavy, though.

I pulled the trigger and bought the 20 pound one because half the price of this one. Will see how sleep improves.
