Anyone else cold while fasting?

I’ve been fasting since September started a 16 hour daily fast M-TH then in October started a 20 a day fast M-F and when I started fasting 48 and 36 hours that’s when I noticed I was REALLY cold during those longer fasts. thought it was in my head then it happened again during my 36 hour fast and thought there might be something to this perhaps it’s not just in my head? Is this happening to anyone else?? On a side note I have always had very low blood pressure. when it’s 80 out I can still feel cold nail beds turn purple finger tips will turn white.

I get cold if I do an extended fast. It’s especially bad in the winter. Do you have Renauds?

I use iodine. The move to pink salt meant I also unintentionally limited the amount of supplemented iodine in table salt. The thyroid uses a great deal of iodine and the thyroid is also responsible for body temperature regulation. Proper iodine helps maintain body temperature as well as helps weight homeostasis, that is proper iodine helps to lose the “right” amount of weight.

I use Crows iodine drops, 5% solution and I place 2 -6 drops under the tongue daily, around the same time I place salt there.

I get warmer the first two days of fast.

It is after about 65 hours when I start to lose the warmth but not cold.

I never went beyond 72 hours so I do not know what will happen.

I have looked into R disease and have ‘unoffically’ diagnosed myself. Nails and fingers look same as those who have it. Symptoms are the same.

Me. Every damn time.

I’ve solved the problem by wearing gym leggings under my jeans, perfection.

Ok so it’s not just in my head! I’m looking into and thinking about doing extended fasting (up to 5 days) so I’ll just have to start bundling up!!

Drink warm water, move as much as possible, and extra layers - for me the leggings really are a game changer, much more so than wearing extra layers on my top half.

If I can keep my chest warm the rest of me usually stays warm

Definitely move more, I am f@cking freezing when i don’t eat whilst doing OMAD if I don’t work out and just sit at my work desk… Even with the heating on full blast… Pretty sure the body diverts blood to the organs and not the physical body external extremities…

if I do 15 minute workout, or even go for a walk, it helps loads with body warmth.

Since losing 55+ pounds I’m cold below 72 degree temps. I find it happens fasting or not. This will be my first winter without the extra insulation. Winter being a descriptive rather, than literal term here in Phoenix. I usually do OMAD 20/4 hour fasts during the week although it’s been a rarity this last month.
