There are a few Amish farms that sell a2 raw cheese and butter. I’m wondering if it is worth trying if you have ibs/inflammatory issues. Has anybody tried them? I have a few concerns such as there will still be milk in the butter , or that it won’t have the flavor as kerrygold.
Anybody tried the raw butter and cheese sold online?
I had IBS up until maybe a week into Keto, then it resolved. I am not sure about the raw butter, but the Amish make a rolled butter that is to die for and tastes like the butter I had up in the Alps when I grew up. The milk was fresh from the cows on pasture there (yes, grass fed) and the butter was churned there and it tasted different from supermarket butter. Very different. I am not sure if it was raw… There was also a man called “the cheeser” who had a large cottage with row after row of shelves of what is called “Swiss cheese” here. (this was Austria). It had a very mellow taste and was soft. Here they would call it baby Swiss. He made the cheese from the milk from the cows up there - all fresh. I sure miss it.
We have Amish butter and raw milk in a nearby store. No need to shop online.
Why is there not grassfed sheep or goat butter in stores? Do they not make good butter?
Had a ton of it, but not bought online, if it’s a local-ish place you’ll be fine. But most supermarkets have Amish butter rolls from somewhere kinda local, most will sell some raw cheeses in the cheese section as well, usually cheddar.
Here’s one place that sells goat butter online:
I have tried raw milk and raw butter from farms in my vicinity. Raw milk is delicious but I don’t do well on milk, even raw. But most people would probably be fine on it.
Raw cheese from the three daiiry farms varied. Some were better than others.
Raw butter goes rancid very quickly.
