Anybody have an easy and yummy Keto Cocoa Recipe?

I use a similar recipe and add 1/2 TBS kerrygold butter. It is really good with a sprinkle of cinnamon too.

Made an unsweetened vanilla almond milk (with a splash of heavy whipping cream) steamer tonight. Added vanilla extract and a lil vanilla creme stevia to taste. Found myself wishing for vanilla BEAN flavor, subtly different…anyone know of a good keto source of that to add to beverages?

Update: I just learned that you want to AVOID “alkanized” or “Dutch processed” (another name for the same thing) cacao. Apparently the naturally occurring and super beneficial polyphenols present in cacao are counteracted when the cacao is alkanized or Dutch processed:

PS the author of that article, @maxlugavere , seems very knowledgeable about brain health and is good to follow on Instagram!

Genevieve, You’re my kind of cook. Can’t wait to try this recipe. I render my own lard too.

(Arlene) #25

Genevieve, I just tried your recipe and wow, wow, wow!!! Perfect, thanks soooooo much.

(Becky Searls) #26

@Genevieve what type of lard?? Or if I remember right do you make your own?

(Arlene) #27

I make my own lard, but there are some very good quality lards you can purchase on line, or in health-centered stores like whole foods market, etc.

(Genevieve Biggs) #28

I’m glad you like it! It’s even better if you’re using special dark cocoa.

@beckyjoy Yes, I render my own.

Genevieve, I use a small amount of stevia in mine. It tastes so much better with the stevia. Just so you know.

Oh I do too! Forgot to include that. Haha

did you ever get a reply to this? I would suggest Kiva Vanilla Bean powder and add it in. 5g total carbs, 2g dietary fiber per tbsp.
