Hello,

I am trying to shake things up and lose the last 10 lbs (I’ve been trying this for a while now…). Has anyone benefited from this? I have heard about this through Maria Emmerich and others. Ladies?

Thanks!

I’m interested in this too, just heard about the Emmerich’s new book. Has anyone tried it?

Very effective, very grueling diet though. best for short bursts. essentially eat only protein for periods of time.

Some of the PSMF people though are very big into protein fluffs, artificial sweeteners, fake foods.

You can easily integrate some of the basics though. Try dropping all carbs and get your fats as low as you possible can for a couple days, then go back to Keto for a few. repeat as needed

I haven’t tried it yet. I’m going to do the modified protein fast for a coupe of days see how it goes. Please keep me posted on how you do.

I’m going to add in 1-2 PSMF days a week to see how it goes. Let’s compare notes!

What version of this are you doing? Is there a specific plan?

(Don’t hit me people, but I’m actually going to do Medifast for a couple of weeks this summer then go back to Keto. Mainly because Medifast worked very well for me for weight loss 10 years ago. I’m doing it instead of fasting cause I hate fasting lol.)

I’m doing the version where you eat 1g of protein for each lb of LBM and that’s about it. The only fat I’ll have is any that I can’t avoid attached to the protein, and probably a bit of cream in coffee. Today I’m breaking my 24 hour water fast with something like canned tuna and mustard, then I’ll have a protein shake after my workout.

Thanks! I also just downloaded the Emmerich’s cookbook for this.

There is a PSMF facebook group based around Lyle McDonald’s book. Good resource. Lots of fake food though

PSMF’s suck! They have their place, but they are completely miserable. “Normal” fasting is more or less painless, Couple times I did a PSMF I was walking around eating a TON and starving!

truth. Day one might be fine, maybe even seem easy. Day 4 you are ready to die, even coming from a fully fat adapted state.
