Any little goals met to keep you motivated?

I’ll start,I was able to put my boots on this morning without lifting a leg onto a chair or step! Just like thin people I was able to lean down and slip on my boot and lace it up.Yeah!

The combination of going to the gym 5+ days a week and losing some weight has me able to get out of my lowish car without any effort. I can sit down and get up from the couches and chairs without holding on to anything.

This week I spent 3 hours blowing leaves off my yard without getting tired as all. I have more stamina than when I was 35yo. I’m a 65yo.

I’m kind of motivated to ‘lose’ my license and go to the DMV! Sounds crazy right? Waiting in an hour long line to be serviced by some grumpy, job-hating government worker who only cares about 2 things: lunch time and clocking out… simply so I can update my current pudge-faced ID and match the thinner faced version of me I see in the mirror.

Also, I used to drop a dime or quarter in public and I would say screw it. I didn’t want to risk blowing out an ACL or my back to pick those up. I can now bend down to scoop up a nickle without fear or pain.

Being able to wipe myself is really nice. So is being able to tie my shoe or cut my toenails without holding my breath. Not to mention being able to get down on the floor and back up again without having to spend a day planning how to do it!

Getting to the third floor at work and not be winded and no sore knees
Fitting into regular chairs…
Adjusting the car because I take up less room
Rings getting too big on my fingers…
People not recognizing me when I walk by unless they can see my crazy color hair lol

My neighbor asked me to plug her Christmas tree in this morning and instead of bending over to grab the plug I squatted down to the floor, plugged it in and stood straight up w/o grabbing anything. My knees only popped once!

My “updated” state ID never came in the mail last time I visited the States. It was a month before I started Keto. I am not at all sad about the bureaucratic slip up. I’ll just have to wait in line again next time! Poor me

The stiffness is gone so being able to get up and going down the stairs without holding on for fear of my legs crumbling or getting stuck. Man, my joints were a mess I’m realizing.

(And I can squat easily now, thanks to the squat challenge)

At least our WOE better allows us to wait in those annoying lines without getting so frustrated.

And tight-fitting restaurant booths . . .

Not really a goal, but a benefit. @Ruina’s mention of a bureaucratic slip-up reminded me of all the money I’m saving by not spending probably $300-$400 a month on junk food and extra food. The government is dragging its feet on my pension, and I’m able to live within my means in the meantime.

The inflammation in my foot is finally subsiding (after fracturing some bones) and the added benefit of weight loss has me very motivated to kcko.

Couple of other small goals I thought of: being able to keep all my limbs, and not going blind from diabetic retinopathy. You know, the little things!

That’s a significant NSV!

#15

Reversed type 2 diabetes and am no longer prediabetic.
Let go of 10 kilos in past 3 months
Fractured foot (6 months ago) pain is gone.

No longer afraid of the future, feeling empowered.
