Another testimony about cortisone injections

#1

Over the Christmas Week I learned I have some advanced osteoarthritis in my right shoulder — product of decades old athletic injuries. No more cartilage.

It required a single injection of cortisone. Doc said it would take full effect in a day or two.

On Thursday my FBG — pre-injection and after a few days of nibbling on carby sweet — finally settled back to an acceptable 81.

Today, 26 hours after injection and 18 hours of fasting I was slammed with a FBG reading of 127!! Wow. Came on to this site and found some corroborating evidence.

Just want to add my experience. Will monitor and see how long it takes to settle down. I imagine a few more days since it was injected right into me.

I was also put on oral Naproxen 220 mg twice a day for maintenance.

Question: does Naproxen (Aleve) affect BCG and ketosis?

Are you diabetic? I am, and steroids will send my BG through the roof. Like between 200 to 350 when I was on prednisone course for a couple months. And fasting numbers well above 170. It was before I was trying Keto, so all I can tell you, is when my FBG is high, I show no Ketones.

No I am not diabetic. Never averaged more than 97-102 prior to Keto/EF. Now normally 79-85. Guess that helped keep cortisone from skyrocketing my BG after the injection.

Checked my ketones via a pee stick and they were back into the Moderate 40+ range for whatever good that reflects.

But I also seemed a bit dehydrated with deep yellow urine. Whatever. I will just Keto on through the 2nd then get back into a nice long EF.

I got an injection Thursday directly into my C Spine. Since then I have felt tired and low energy. My electrolytes are fine and I haven’t done anything different.

I just feel tired and I’m not sure if it is the reaction to the injection. before Keto I never had this side effect. Can a high BG make you feel this way? It’s confusing because my ketones read as 2.2 and this tired feeling feels different then low electrolytes. I am starting to feel back to normal again which is good.
