Another hopeful article gets the details wrong

High protein? 50g carbs?

(TJ Borden) #2

“As LOW as 50g carbs”… if I have a 50 carb day, I’m usually fasting the next day.

“To some, it feels like something is scratching or itching under their skin.“ Wow. That’s going to attract a lot of people to this WOE. That’s probably the worst popular article on Keto that I have read.

(Running from stupidity) #4

The joys of the internet democratising publishing. Anyone can write anything and give it a veneer of authority with a slick website.

(Todd Gamel) #5

The article states: “Ketos are interested in loading their diets with high fat, high protein foods – like meat and cheese – while minimizing carbohydrates to as low as 50 grams per day.”…“Ketos are highly suspect of many branded foods…”

Uh, when the heck did we all become ‘Ketos’?::rofl:

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome “Carl and the Ketos!” [applause]

Many years ago, Lisa and I did the Protein Power diet, and lost quit a bit of weight doing 35g a day (but, the temptation was much stronger). Then when we went into “maintenance” we were suppose to up it to 85g a day, and the rest was history.

20 years later, we’ve learned with keto, we need to keep it 20g or less. Of course, the added fat helps!

Since when did the ketogenic diet become “high-protein”? And what on earth are “the wrong kinds of proteins?” And why was fat not part of the discussion?

This is supposed to be a serious article designed to inform potential manufaturers of keto foods? How out of touch with the market can you get?
