10 things nutritionists want you to know about Keto, my thoughts are:

It’s only suitable for Type 2 - really maybe that should tell you all you need, how about cure Type 2 and prevent it in the rest.

Not eating root vegetables might increase your chance of cancer - perhaps they should mention the cancers caused by sugar and processed food.

Your turn to list your thoughts

"You’ll have to slash your carbs considerably to less than 40–50 grams spread out over a whole day.”

50 carbs on Keto? - what a luxury…Another person writing about something they know little about .

“It can impact your social life, especially when so many events revolve around food,” Stefanski says.

(:thinking::thinking: Maybe that’s why Americans are the fattest nation in the world). But, at any gathering, there is always something we can eat.

I have always been a meat eater. I’ve never eaten a lot of packaged stuff. Yeah, bread, pasta in the past, but now I am eating MORE and HEALTHIER than ever. I eat way more vegetables than most Americans. Yes, there is an uptick in anti-low carb/keto bad press. Horrible journalism.

Got a decent recipe for vegetable dip for celery, by any chance?

This is why I drink with people but don’t eat with them:

Cliffs: Don’t eat around other people. You tend to eat more.

Just Marie’s Blue Cheese. I am not into making my own dressing. Most store bought dressings have sugar and weird stuff, but Marie’s gets the big okay from the Charley Foundation. So if it is good enough for the childhood epilepsy protocol, it is good enough for me. It does, however, FYI, include non GMO soybean oil. But I’m not sweating it. Most major grocery stores carry it, and the Marie’s Ranch, and other flavors.

@dead-fred

Or if you ARE into making homemade dressings, this one from the 2Keto Dudes will blow your socks off! Sometimes I skip the salad and just dip the celery stalks right in:

Thanks. I absolutely love Blue Cheese. I shall ponder over this one.

#8

Its even 1:1 ratio with Blue Cheese to Sour Cream. What’s not to love!

Lets just look at # 4 “supplements are a must” not a must but a preference just like a Vegan or traditional diet. The sad thing is a nutritionist thinks a natural magnesium supplement is bad but getting off a half dozen toxic prescriptions is not a consideration.

So if someone has a severe nut allergy, they shouldn’t avoid nuts if it impacts their eating out… Just have some nuts, go into anaphylaxis and cover wit your epipen!

To me, the article seems to accept (if grudgingly) the increasing mainstream adoption of Keto. As if to say, it ain’t going away folks, so you ought to know more about it.

"Stefanski says to seek a doctor or registered dietitian with experience in keto if you wish to try it."

This statement at the end of the article acknowledges that not all dietitians are qualified to advise on Keto.

"Plus, most packaged foods aren’t keto-friendly. "

No kidding! Most packaged foods aren’t “human-friendly”.

Cooking is a must!
Gasp.
Seek a dietitian!
My previous doc said that won’t help me.
No pre biotic!
Faint.
