And for the third year it is still unhealthy, restrictive, and unsustainable without anything further than their personal opinion to back it up.
I really like the “your body can burn fat without the forced stress” well America how is that working out for you?

And the keto flu is a sure sign your body is pissed off. Really?

Wow, it’s a wonder that we’re all here on these forums suffering through the heart disease, keto crotch, keto flu, headaches, bad breath, body odor, aches, pains, gout, inflammation, and so forth.

I’m not saying the media would ever exaggerate or lie, but could it be that this article is a little inaccurate? :open_mouth::open_mouth:

Before Keto U.S. News and World Report would put Atkins at the bottom. I really think the main problem they have with the low carb stuff is it doesn’t meet their anti-meat agenda. Another theory I have is that the grain industry may be influencing the list. What makes it suspicious is that the list usually doesn’t focus on why they consider the top one to be superior as it is more of a hit piece against Keto.

I heard a radio news story (not an ad) shortly after New year and it was the same way. It focused more on why keto was bad than what they recommended to eat. It’s the same thing every year. Obesity = $$$.

As Tom Naughton says, #followthemoney.

Advertisers are junk foods makers (Sugar, grain, seed oil), beverage companies (sugar, HFCS), chain restaurants (all of the above).

Keto basically says “reject ALL of that stuff”.

225 to 325 grams of carbs a day? I cant fathom that. When I get to around 60 grams I am stuffed.

Sometimes it’s very odd to see a “normal” diet, indeed…
But to me, you is interesting, too. Do you get super full with carbs? I am the opposite. They make me hungry (potentionally unwell too). Being stuffed at 60g is something I hardly do, I need less carbs for that. I can still reach 300g if I am slightly masochistic and accept the 200+ g fat and high protein I must eat with it… And my body already was like that on my HC days, for decades (if not always, often, I didn’t track but I have memories about my food intake)… Nope, it wasn’t ideal. And I can’t even go back now

The article is silly, it doesn’t even try to be serious with science and facts, just some hater spouts nonsense, mostly. And I doubt anyone is serious about the hope that lots of ketoers will suddenly stop this woe…

But I liked the photo  Cute, good food (if made according to my standards, I could eat some for every meal).

The last time I heard something from vice is was about the opiate epidemic and war. I spent some time cruising around and it looks like Vice is Buzzfeed now with contest on trends they think are stupid (graph included) and plenty of opinionated snark. The author Hannah Smothers must really hate someone who does a keto diet. We get it, Hannah, you’re not into it.

I’m going to have a go at reading the article and making some notes (below). The notes are all quotes from the article…

For the third consecutive year, the annual U.S. News and World Report ranked the exceeding popular keto diet. The ranking is culled from medical journals and government data. people continue to follow this diet, shoveling heaps of protein and fats into their mouths and eating so little carbs. To achieve ketosis, the keto diet advises getting most of your calories from fat, eating moderate amounts of protein, and eating fewer carbs per day. Studies have shown that sort of diet to be helpful for children with epilepsy and people with diabetes. Keto can seem like a fun, flirty diet compared to other, even more rigorous options: you can eat cheese, steaks, even hamburger patties. That’s fun!

That’s about got it. No need to feed the click bait monster any more sugar.

Yes, I do. That was why I went off keto for a couple of months. I was starving and losing too much weight. I am back on keto. Will somehow have to double the calories, without carbs. Only meat and vegetables do not add enough calories. I added cheese and nuts but was still hungry. Working on a way to stay keto and gain weight.

I agree…lol…the photo is cute food.

Up your protein and fat. Those satisfy. Those won’t put you in starve mode, those put you in health mode. Have you tried doing this? just wondering.
