America's gift to the developing world: Childhood Obesity

#1

India has gone from active and lean albeit malnourished to sedentary and obese. I wonder if the McDonald’s burgers and Domino’s pizza eaten by these kids have anything to do with it? By the time the developed world finally starts to come to grips with the obesity epidemic we’ll have given the gift of obesity to a few billion people in Asia and Africa. It’s very sad and very, very scary. I can see the ship slowly starting to turn around but it’s going to take decades to reverse these trends, and that’s if all goes well. If governments keep feeding the public nonsense this could be prolonged for much longer.

We owe such a large debt to Ancel Benjamin Keys. His gift just seems to keep on giving.

I was just reading about him last week. Am I the only one who is shocked by the fact he lived to 100? Couldn’t believe that when I saw it.

He didn’t give up steak! He just wanted the rest of us to.

That explains a lot.

That keeps the price down. This keto movement catching fire is going to be a disaster for our financial health…

Cheap processed food, refined sugars, flours and vegetable oils are likely responsible for the ironic linkage of obesity to poverty and malnutrition.

Gosh, probably 35, 40 years ago, there was an ad in the New York City subway system, showing an obese family of four (Mom, Dad, Sis, Brother), with the headline, “Some of America’s poorest-nourished people have never missed a meal.” Even back then, we knew!

…and thus commenced the dumbing down of America.

I’m gonna buy a farm and grow my own meat. Lol…
